82nd birthday card

My grandfather turned 82 yesterday and I made a card for his birthday, and some cake.
I chose to use elements that I know he likes, such as raspberries, motorcycles, gold and shooting. He has been shooting in competitions for as long as I can remember and he took me and my brother for practice once a week when we were younger. I loved it and every summer I asked if we could go shooting with air pistols which he always brought with him to our summer house.
First I thought of adding a plain white or kraft tag but then I remembered I had some old paper targets left from my practice so I cut a tag out of one of them. Such a damn good idea I must say!
The raspberries are a few rhinestones glued together on a piece of paper, painted with some stickles to make them more pinkish.

My friend Jennie made the layout for me and the more I look at it, the more I like it. It’s interesting how much positive feedback I’ve gotten from showing the picture of the card. Now I just have to analyze what makes this card so god damn fab!

Since there is a challenge at 2 sisters challenge blog with the theme “just for dad” I decided to enter with this one. Exciting!
I’m also entering the current Alota Rubber stamps challenge (alota109): make a wish. I wished my grandfather a happy birthday (and more to come!) with this card. I think he liked it, he watched all the details for a long time.

A closeup on the raspberries, so happy to use my bling stash!

Here’s the cakes I made, roll cake (directly translated from Swedish; rulltÃ¥rta), it might actually be called Swiss roll when translating it. I prefer to call it roflcaek. Anyway, the red one is filled with mashed fresh raspberries and the brown one is filled with a nut creme! Next time I’ll make one with lemon curd and maybe some strawberries.. *drool*

A little something

Long time no posting, I know.. It doesn’t mean I haven’t been creative tho! I’m just a bit lazy and… yeah that’s it. I have been trying to organize stuff and learning new techniques. Since the scrapbooking/card making thing is quite new to me I have a lot to learn. I purchased a bunch of cute stamps and now I’m mostly practicing working with aquarelle.
I also have a few birthdays coming up so there will be lots of reasons for practicing card making too. Yay!

Anyway, I made a simple thing for Malin and her new apartment. I have one myself in blue and my mother has one in yellow. I got the idea from her actually, not sure where she got it from tho.
Since Malin keep her bathroom in black and white I decided to make one what would match!

Last but not least. My brother had his birthday a few days ago and I baked a bunch of cookies for his birthday dinner. Dangerously delicious as usual and very appreciated!
I also made a few for my aunt when I was visiting my new born cousin, she liked them too!

Yummy!

My fourth crafting club meeting

Finally the time came for our crafty Saturdays, to be honest it was more like a crafty Sunday but it was pleasant as usual. We were quite a few joining this time and the variety of crafts was better than usual! We had a bunch working with cards and scrapbooking, some jewelcrafting, decoration, knitting and sewing. It was a very nice day and of course we had dinner at Svenska Sushihuset afterwards. It’s a part of the tradition and their food is delicious!

I managed to make one card during the day, and I can’t say I’m very proud over that achievement but luckily I didn’t bring too much materials to the meeting. Only scrapbooking related items and a few beads.

Yesterday I baked Chocolate Chip Cookies for today and they are SOOO delicious! I made quite a few and ended up with some spare cookies.. poor me, hehe. Anyway, I really want to make more of them since they are so tasty and I want to share it with everyone I know. I hope there will be some birthday events or something soon that I can use as an excuse to make them again. Don’t they look awesome?

Yummy!
