My grandfather turned 84 this year and I made him a birthday card. He loves classy things and gold so I made sure to add a lot of that and some bling
My mother’s husband celebrated his birthday last weekend and I made him a glittery birthday card. I just love these glitter papers eventhough they are quite tricky to punch or die cut through. They are from DCWV and I think the glittery layer is of some sort of plastic which makes it harder to get through. As you can see on the closup the edges aren’t all that pretty and even but it is what it is, the card was appreciated!
I created the card based on the layout challenge this week at clean & simple stamping and I got several ideas for other variations for that layout, I’m just waiting for my vacation to start so I have some time to make them!
Products used:
– Basic white cards, I purchase them finished with an envelope
– Glittery paper from DCWV
– Sequins
– Rhinestones from different brands
– Basic black cardstock
– Grattis-die from RoxStamps
– Sizzix circle dies
– Circle punches
– Corner punch
– Tape and glue
Today we celebrate mother’s day here in Sweden so I made a card for my mother. I had a lot of fun playing with my new stencil from memory box; chic chevron. I used another stencil from a company I can’t remember for the chicken wire.
I decided to go for a color challenge and I found this week’s Color Q challenge #242: kiwi kiss, daffodil delight, melon mambo, tempting turquoise and white. The green ink pad I found was named kiwi but looks much more bright than I expected from that name. I do however like the color combination of all of these colors! Very happy and bright!
Finally March and it feels like spring is getting closer with the warm sunshine and colorful flowers. Spring also means birthdays in my family and this first card is for my youngest brother.
I was inspired by this week’s challenge at Freshly Made Sketches #126
This second card more or less just happened, feels great to be inspired and not in a rush some times! The sketch that inspired me to make the card was this week’s challenge at Clean and simple stamping.
My choice of technique was inspired by my dear friend Jen at JenandTricks, she is also responsible for me using sequins all of a sudden, never really liked them to be honest! Or at least not the figure shaped ones we used in preschool.
My mother’s parents in law gave me this wonderful oak table when I moved a few months ago, sanded and oiled and it looks just great! So I wanted to give them something as a thanks since I got it for free, I decided to give them a nice bottle of wine and maybe some cheese so I used my new die for a wine tag and decided to enter a few more challenges this week!

I must say it has been a quite productive weekend after all, my new couch is right where it should be, I’ve been biking in the wonderful weather, the sun has been shining and I got to spend some time in my crafting closet. Happy times!
