Mother’s day card

Today we celebrate mother’s day here in Sweden so I made a card for my mother. I had a lot of fun playing with my new stencil from memory box; chic chevron. I used another stencil from a company I can’t remember for the chicken wire.
I decided to go for a color challenge and I found this week’s Color Q challenge #242: kiwi kiss, daffodil delight, melon mambo, tempting turquoise and white. The green ink pad I found was named kiwi but looks much more bright than I expected from that name. I do however like the color combination of all of these colors! Very happy and bright!

A late birthday card

One of my cousins turned 15 a few weeks ago and we are celebrating her today so I made this card for her inspired by this week’s Dynamic duo #99 and Retrosketches #111 challenges.
I’ve spent most of my Easter on my balcony slumbering and coloring stamps. Tough life!

Colorful card weekend

I got some flow this weekend and made a bunch of cards. One for my granny, one for a cousin and then a couple just for fun. I also made two easter cards. Anything to avoid the boring dishes, hehe.
I had so much fun playing with my mists and used stuff I have a hard time using in my stash, which is just awesome! It felt so good to use up some of my paper flowers, bling, and washi tape and the cards were so simple to make too!
The layout was inspired by veckans skiss #12 and the pink colors from the current Nacho Average Challenge #82

I went bananas on colors, I think the best combinations were those which match best but contrast colors are always fun to play with.

When I got bored of the layout I challenged myself by “just doing” the first challenge I got on my pocket list which happened to be this week’s Retro Sketch Challenge, a fun layout I used for my two easter cards:

Sunday crafting

Finally March and it feels like spring is getting closer with the warm sunshine and colorful flowers. Spring also means birthdays in my family and this first card is for my youngest brother.
I was inspired by this week’s challenge at Freshly Made Sketches #126

This second card more or less just happened, feels great to be inspired and not in a rush some times! The sketch that inspired me to make the card was this week’s challenge at Clean and simple stamping.

My choice of technique was inspired by my dear friend Jen at JenandTricks, she is also responsible for me using sequins all of a sudden, never really liked them to be honest! Or at least not the figure shaped ones we used in preschool.

My mother’s parents in law gave me this wonderful oak table when I moved a few months ago, sanded and oiled and it looks just great! So I wanted to give them something as a thanks since I got it for free, I decided to give them a nice bottle of wine and maybe some cheese so I used my new die for a wine tag and decided to enter a few more challenges this week!

Simply less is more #162: OLC + Spring flowers

And last but not least Promarker challenge #237: Flowers

I must say it has been a quite productive weekend after all, my new couch is right where it should be, I’ve been biking in the wonderful weather, the sun has been shining and I got to spend some time in my crafting closet. Happy times!

Birthday card madness part 1

March, the busiest month of the year when it comes to birthdays among my friends and family. I feel I’ve started strong this year by making two cards and it’s still February! Not sure I’ll use the second card but it’s always good to have some backup cards.

For the first card I followed this week’s mojo monday challenge #333

For the second card I followed the sketch from freshly made sketches #124

Batman birthday card

My youngest cousin turns 3 today and he’s a big batman fan so I decided to make him a themed card

I used my sizzix to cut out two oval shapes, one yellow and one black. Then I cut out the bat by hand and adhered it on the yellow piece. I stamped some dots on the gray background and smudged some gold glimmer mist over the badge to make it shine.

I used this week’s sketch from Freshly made sketches and the pink gem challenge #111; for the boys
