Birthday cards

I decided to work on my card stash this weekend and made two masculine cards using one of my favorite papers from the dapper dan collection.

For this card I was inspired by this week’s Retro sketch challenge #138

Pregnant birthday girl

My brother’s girlfriend turned 25 this weekend and I made her a card. I also made a tag-cover thing for my gift, a few items from the body shop for her to use. She is pregnant and I thought she should use some time to care for herself once in a while before the baby comes.

For her birthday card I used white and pastels with some light grey. Her favourite colors are white and any pastel color. The layout was inspired by last week’s mojo monday challenge. Posted this a bit late so I didn’t participate, loved the sketch tho!

The tag/cover thingy (can’t find a good word for it) was inspired by this week’s colorQ challenge #263 and the previous sketch at Freshly made sketches (too late again to join the challenge). So clean and simple but it felt empty so I added a ribbon, tag and a colored stamp. She loved it!
My handwriting is usually quite bad and or ugly but this time I even amazed myself, I really loved the color combination too!

My mom was cleaning a crystal chandelier before the party, that’s why there are prisms in the background, hehe.

A late wedding card

An old friend (and classmate) of mine got married earlier this year and next week they are throwing a wedding party for friends and family. Me and two other classmates are going together and I got the assignment to make a card for the happy couple. Here’s what I came up with during a scrap crop with mah glitter bitches today!

I remember that the bride used to love the color turquoise (I hope she still does) so I decided to make a card with white and turquoise and my all time favorite wedding stamp from Wee stamps, it’s adorable!

I was inspired by this weeks Mojo Monday challenge #358, it felt fun and fitting for a wedding card.

Most of the paper I used are from DCVW, and one from BoBunny I think, could be Echo Park too (why do I chop up my 12×12 and forget the brand?).
Stamp from Wee Stamps
Border punch from Martha Stewart, doily lace I think
Alphabet stickers and flower from Panduro
Will add some stickles too before I give it away.

I apologize for the crappy picture, I forgot to take a picture before it got dark and inside lightning is just awful. Did some adjustments to make it more true to reality. Hehe.

Glittery birthday card

My mother’s husband celebrated his birthday last weekend and I made him a glittery birthday card. I just love these glitter papers eventhough they are quite tricky to punch or die cut through. They are from DCWV and I think the glittery layer is of some sort of plastic which makes it harder to get through. As you can see on the closup the edges aren’t all that pretty and even but it is what it is, the card was appreciated!

I created the card based on the layout challenge this week at clean & simple stamping and I got several ideas for other variations for that layout, I’m just waiting for my vacation to start so I have some time to make them!

Birthday box

Me and Jennie made a birthday card for Malin. Her birthday is in April but they threw a birthday moving in together party this weekend. We made one box each and put them together so they fall out on each other. I got to make the smaller inside box. Here’s all the different pages/sides!
