My youngest cousin turns 4 tomorrow and I was invited to a birthday party today. I made him this card to go with the gift and he liked it (maybe a superhero card would have been more interesting, but I had no inspiration for that yesterday ;-) )
My brother’s girlfriend got a quick look at the card and said “What a cute rhino!” and Lukas quickly replied with “It’s a hippo!” and then he opened the card and asked my mum to read the inside. He usually just rip off the wrapping and ignore the cards so I was very surprised that he wanted to hear the inside too! I’ll have to write something nice next time I think.

It’s been a quite crafty weekend I must admit. I made three cards using up a lot of time, as usual! I often find myself spending most of the time just figuring out what to do and what paper or stamp to use. This weekend I found a layout I liked a lot and thought would be fun to make a card of. It took me several hours to come up with something following the sketch! So while pondering I made two other cards, one of them for my brother as his birthday is tomorrow! I’ll just write the challenges used above each card to make it a bit easier to read.
Seize the birthday – anything goes with the option to use washi, which I did not do. I did however get to use my new hexagon die jenandtricks got me from UK! <3 The paper used is a mixture of some scraps, don’t rememeber the brandexcept for the brown (Echo Park) and the glittery one (DCVW). I cut out the letters using my Memory Box alphabet dies, which I love!
And for this happy card; Veckans skiss # 38 – layout. I colored the stamp from Some odd girl and messed with colors on the cardstock. Punched some red and pink hearts from my scraps and I even got to use my new pearl mists I found on a sale, woho!
Another card order from my mum, this time a graduation card. I love the stamped poem. In short it’s about the bumblebee and how it cant fly since it’s wings are to small, but the bumblebee says you can do anything you want.
Today we celebrate mother’s day here in Sweden so I made a card for my mother. I had a lot of fun playing with my new stencil from memory box; chic chevron. I used another stencil from a company I can’t remember for the chicken wire. I decided to go for a color challenge and I found this week’s Color Q challenge #242: kiwi kiss, daffodil delight, melon mambo, tempting turquoise and white. The green ink pad I found was named kiwi but looks much more bright than I expected from that name. I do however like the color combination of all of these colors! Very happy and bright!
March, the busiest month of the year when it comes to birthdays among my friends and family. I feel I’ve started strong this year by making two cards and it’s still February! Not sure I’ll use the second card but it’s always good to have some backup cards.
